CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP IN SCHOOLS

The Writers College is a fully registered and approved professional Writing Institution specifically designed to educate children/teenagers aged 5-19 years the skills on how become a successful creative writer regardless of their age, sex, education or background.

The seminar is targeted at giving lectures/seminar to the children on creative writing as part of the school curriculum and showing them instructional writing materials with video clips that will grab their attention on what to write and how to write in order to succeed and sell.

OUR OBJECTIVES

1. To help children develop their writing skills to the fullest

2. To establish a warm and friendly relationship with each and every students

3. To help them acquire the expertise, and knowledge to become a successful writer

4. To provide the children the expert tutors they needed in order to develop their writing skills

5. To provide a well- written and high quality writing materials on creative writing.

SEMINAR FEE

The one day seminar will attract a fee of #1000 per child (The fee will cover their writing materials and certificate of participation). Each school that wants their children to join the writers club or set up the club in their school should contact the Director of Studies

This seminar has been carried out in some schools in Lagos with proof of photographs.

The writers club has been approved and recognized by the Federal Government of Nigeria and other writing institutions across the globe.

The Writers College has been registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission in Abuja. The College run six certificates and Diploma programs  which includes Creative writing, English Grammar, Public Speaking, Photography ,  Cinematography and Radio and Television Writing etc.

BRIEF HISTORY

What has metamorphosed to The writers college started as The humane Global Network. A media service organization years back in Lagos. At that time, seminars and trainings was carried out in schools on social development and promoting nature. The Humane Global Network was then registered as a media service organization with the corporate Affairs commission in Abuja. The more people began to crave for serious desires to be taught creative writing and with my experience for 10 years teaching English Language, I founded the writers college. The writers college was fully registered on the 15^th February 2019 by the Companies and Allied  Matters Act of 1990 under section 659 by the Corporate Affairs Commission, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Abuja.

It had always been the desire of the Director of Studies and Founder, Chiemeka Chiedozie to establish a writing institution where the students can be taught creative writing and English Grammar and also learn the rudiments of writing to become a professional since it is a general believe that this can only be taught in the university or journalism schools like the Nigerian Institute of Journalism and Ghana Institute of Journalism..

Soon, the college would be affiliated with Journalism schools around the world. The founder felt that affiliation with  top journalism schools around the world will give the propose college a high pedigree and solid foundation. Application for affiliation would be made soon with immediate effect.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COLLEGE

TO produce well –trained professional writers from all levels of the educational sectors

To prepare students for an award of the Certificate and Diploma programs

To provide a  well-written, high quality course materials, caring tutors and efficiently run administration

To provide you with the expert tutors you need in order to develop your writing skills.

To also help you to acquire the expertise, and knowledge to become a successful writer. What we must have, in return, is your dedication and enthusiasm.

General Admission Requirement to the College

Admission requirements to The writers College

1.       A senior secondary school certificate SSCE, WASC, NECO OR GCE O’LEVEL with credit passes in 5 subjects including English Language and Mathematics in no more than two sittings. A combination of results from two examinational bodies may be accepted as two sittings. Two of the credits must be relevant to the course the candidate wishes to offer.

2.       Mature Students can also apply to take any of our courses but must submit relevant educational certificates of his or her previous schools or institutions.

3.       For students wishing to offer our Certificate and Diploma Programmes without any educational background of any kinds especially in creative writing or mass communication will be given a serious consideration.
